We have a winner!
Yes - they came from Sam Labudde, as did the roofing slate in the background. Actually, almost all the hardware came from Sam Labudde. I re-stained the stand and the canister filter and powerhead I bought elsewhere.
It's probably the most contrived aquascape I've ever set up, but the moment I laid eyes on those blocks, months before Sam got rid of them, I felt a little nudge of inspiration.

I like the scape on this one... contrived? yeah, sure... but so is dutch, iwagumi, nature style, etc. all just a matter of what floats your boat at the time.

My parents call it the aquarium stonehenge. I made some changes a month or so ago and last time they visited they walked in and said "Hey, you remodeled stonehenge!"
