Testing Water with Tannins etc

I'm coming to my wits end with my water. If I put Indian Almond Leaves in my filter in a bag or something of the sort in my filter, I know these will release tannins into my water, but what about testing? Will the color of the water in the tank affect the color of the water in the test tube after adding in the testing chemical drops so I van test ph/gh/kh/nitrate? TIA.

I do not think the tannins will have a measurable difference on your test results.

There are lakes in the Adirondacks that are black tea colored from all the fallen leaves but yet they are safe enough to drink. You'll be fine.

Same goes for the amazon red water that's cleaner than any tap filter etc... Light orange to dark red from plant roots.
