Talk about Monster fish!

Stumbled on this thread - some of them I had no idea they got that big! Kissing gourami at 12"?!? Clown loaches at 16"? Some pretty big fish on this list.

There is a HUGE gourami at house of tropicals last time I was there...

The thing must have been almost 2 feet. Go check it out if you are close to them some day.

I really need to make a road trip up that way when there isn't a meeting so I can check out the stores. I'd love to see a gourami that big!

Michael Barber has a giant gourami as well last time I checked.

If you go to the National Zoo's Amazonia building you can see very large pacus and very large red tailed catfish. These may be even larger than those in the wild as tank raised fish eat better and have no enemies. The ones at the zoo are all living longer than any have been known to live before.

I've seen them, Frank - one of my absolute favorite exhibits at the Zoo! Might drag the family out this weekend and head to DC to do the zoo. It'll be more fun for me now I know more about the fish there!
