Start of my 180 background

Here is a Gray scale shot of the background I am building for my 180 gallon tank. Next I have to glue the strips in separately and then grout the entire thing while in the tank.

Are you concerned about the weight of the background?

No, all that foam weighs maybe 3 lbs, and a few coats of grout will weigh maybe 10?

Do you seal it after grouting?

No, though you have to do several water changes until the ph stabilizes

That's what I was thinking about. Thought it would be more than just several though.

What type of grout? Some of the tile grouts have bonders and sealers or latex in them and some are even epoxy grout. Or are you referring to the non shrink type used in construction?

I am using unsanded grout bathroom grout, it does not wipe out the details as much.
