Question about tank drilling

no, but it depends on which panel you're drilling and how it was manufactured. The bottoms (and sometimes sides I think) on 55s are tempered. You don't want to drill tempered glass.

I have drilled the back of Aqueon 55 gallon tanks 14 times so far. No problems. (7 tanks with 2 holes each)
Most do have a note on them when new that bottom glass is tempered. (I just did a 33long Saturday and it had the note
on it saying bottom tempered.)

55 is not that thin. I had a lot of problems with 10's but nothing bigger has cracked on me when drilling.
Just light pressure and lots of water. Take your time.

I think it's fun to drill tempered glass. It's like a jack in the box. when is it gonna pop into a million little pieces?.
