Parasite

Hello,

I have three blue rams in a 30gal tank, one male and two females. Tonight one of the females appears to have a parasitic infection. She has thin, very white worms, about 3-5mm long, attached to her. There are several that look as if they are under her skin, and there is one on her dorsal fin. For the number of worms on her and the size of them, the fish is acting perfectly normal. She hasn't shown any flashing, isn't lethargic, no gasping, and she is eating voraciously.

What do you guys think these things are and what's the best way to treat them?

Thanks for any help!

I would give every fish in that tank a formalin-based dip and hope for the best. Once an infestation gets that visible, it's often too late. Keep all nets, etc.. used in that tank completely isolated from anything else. Once the infestation has either been cured or has wiped everything out, sterilize everything with a strong bleach solution. Throw out all live plants.
