I have spawned these quite a few times ... so this is nothing new...

But I had an enormous spawn ! I can see at least 20 of them... there are probably more.

This is not the norm for them. Usually I get 6 to 8 from my pair.

This is my female....

These fish are known to have small spawns and are quite rare in the hobby and in the wild.

A bit slow growing.... but should be ready in 3 months.

Mike this is a very rewarding fish if you can keep a pair alive... even more rewarding if you can spawn them.

The only thing I did different this time... is feed them cherry red shrimp :lol:

I've wanted to try them ever since Bobby posted pics. I believe you had some to offer earlier but I slept on it and someone else snatched them up. I like the dark side(Tanganyika) so far I have some N.brichardi(red dot),N. brichardi and Eretmodus sp. Kigoma Red. I'm looking to get some more species.

We're gonna have to get Pat to set us up with some special CCA Darkside shirts!!! We're growing in numbers very rapidly... and I like it!!!

Sarah, from what little I've been able to find to read about these guys they definitely sound like a cool fish to have. I can't wait till I get the fishroom all set up so I can see exactly how many tanks I'll have room for. Now that the wife appreciates my tanks in the living room, that free's up more space in the fishroom.
