Lots of earth eaters came in last week... which ones don't ask me  But I noticed quite a few in different tanks.

Rams as well... all sorts.

Basically they got a great new world shipment in! Lots of cool plecos, pepermint Ansistrus, L333, and more...

Just thought I would let you guys know... since I don't normally pay too much attention to them :p

I was up at HOT yesterday and they do have a bunch of cool stuff. I picked up a trio of sveni pikes (I've never kept them before and thought it would be fun) and a group of carpintis.

Was up there today (Sunday) and came home with L333, Farlowella vittata, Chaetostoma dorsale, and some Microglanis.

The Farlowella came in at really good sizes, all are over 8" and look healthy. There were plenty of both sexes to choose from.

I also noticed that they had about a dozen different loaches on hand, several of them quite rare.

None of the cichlids jumped out at me, but I admit I bypass the Rift Lake and angel/Discus sections when I visit.

Man, I don't miss the 40 miles commute each way when I was working in Columbia, but sure do miss stopping by HOT now and then during lunch. :-(

Anyone like Apistos? Tons came in... about 10 different types :)

Was there the other day... lots of really tempting Apistos there... until you look at the price tags!! They are more for a single than other places are for a pair. really wish they would either show the pedigree that commands such a price, or revisit their pricing structure :(

But they looked really good... why does money always have to get in the way?

I have found that the Apistos that HOT gets in are usually what the say they are, and that is sometimes worth the extra cash. I see all the time that people say that shops in the Balt / DC area don't carry apistos and when one of the best shops around gets them in they are to expensive?????? It is all in what you will pay for things. Sometimes there is a difference between to expensive and more than you are willing to pay. I wish to h**l I lived closer to HOT. The only apistos I ever see around here are rams........ LOL

I have been buying fish from the place they get their apistos for years. VERY trust worthing operation, with great stock. Heck they have supplied some of our other sponsors with stock in the past as well.

Not arguing about the price... but, you are getting what the label says.

Low on L numbers again, as that post was a while ago.... They do have the German Red BN's ... Peppermint ansistrus, A few L333 left still... that is all I can think of at the moment that would be of interest. Unless you want a foot long common pleco

I was there on Saturday and they had a tank of wild angels from Peru marked Peruvian Altums...are those the ones you mean?

Yes Bev :) I don't know enough about angels to know what the heck they are.... just what they were brought in as.

Bob, they just got more in.

The name Peruvian Altums is a trade name. They are wild scalare. That name is confusing. I would love to see more places put the scientific name under the common name.

I know of more than one person that bought the Peruvian Altums thinking they were getting Pterophyllum altum.

On another note they did look really good. Sometimes the fish coming out of Peru isn't in the best of shape but lately they exporters down there are cleaning up their act. Nice to see too. They are a very nice wild angel. We have been breeding them for a few years and just lost our male. I thought about grabbing a few but opted for those Cobalt blue and Blue leopard angels to mix with our lines of blue clowns. :) They are very nice.
