Got in a couple different species of pikes this week.

Crenicichla gaucho (probably - have not verified yet). These guys are about 2" in length.

Great pics of the new arrivals. Those pikes look really healthy. Two inches today. What do you feed little pikes?

I figure they will get to be about 6", maybe a bit smaller.

I am trying to get them to eat NLS Grow and hopefully larger pellets later on.
May have to use some live food to get them started.

We caught a female Gaucho in the Rio Tacarembo that was much larger than 6" long. How these are being marketed as a dwarf species surprises me. They are closesly related to C. scotti and get just as big. Ken

Here is a photo of one of the fish in the other group that I bought. They were sold as Crenicichla sp. 'Maicuru' but I (and at least one other person) now believe them to be C. cardiostigma.

I think this is a male.
