My new project

My foster dog is a Spanish greyhound (called a galgo). She is four months old. My rescue group brought over her and three siblings just a week ago. (Galgos are hideously abused in Spain. Her mom was raising 11 puppies in the open countryside in the heat of the summer before they were rescued.)

In all likelihood, this will not be a "foster" dog much longer. Who can resist this face???

Animal abuse is just as bad as child abuse yet people get away with it everyday. There is a special spot in hell for those sick individuals. Beautiful dog, rescues make the best pets

not to belabor the point, but hunters and gypsys raise the galgos (they are not considered proper pets by most Spaniards) and when they don't want them (some 50,000 a year), they don't even "waste" a bullet in killing them. I will not elaborate as there are some things that once you know them, you can't unknow them . . . These are the most amazing dogs. Very similar to American greyhounds, but actually healthier and in many ways much more atuned to humans (they have to be to survive)

This little one, fortunately, has never know any abuse.

Awesome. I wish we were ready for another dog (had 2 huskies for 17yrs)...
