I do have a question, if I decide to move the eggs to another tank and raise them artificially. I've read somewhere that the eggs shouldn't hit air during the move process ... is this correct?

i have moved cory eggs a lot and more than once i hand pick one and move it for like 5 seconds outside of the tank and into the holding container..they hatch just fine. they will get it, eventually!

A brief moment in the air (while I transfer from one tank to another) hasn't been an issue in the many batches of eggs I've artificially raised.

They're tougher than you think.

The rams will get the hang of it, eventually.

You might PM Frank for advice. He's bred a few thousand of these, I'd bet!

You can expose the eggs to air with no effect for as long as they stay wet. If they dry out, they are gone. If they simply disappear, someone or something ate them. If they are not eaten, the parents will try to protect them but need to be able to see them even at night, so use a night light for them. If the parents get hungry, however, they might eat them themselves. That is why a dither fish like a zebra danio is good. A dither fish brings out the parental feelings of the fish, so to speak. If the eggs turn white, versus staying clear, they were not fertilized or a mold or fungus took it opportunity to feast on the eggs.
