Just got back from seeing True Grit. Behind us there was some obnoxious teenagers (either middle schoolers or high school freshman based on their maturity in a crowded theater) who would NOT shut the hell up the entire movie and hitting the seats, etc. They ruined some good moments in the movie for us.
I liked True Grit. I felt that the ending was rushed... but I liked the characters, the bickering between Cogburn and LeBoeuf, Mattie's boldness in the movie (I didn't care for her attitude in the epilogue though, you'd think she would've done something more with her life after all of that), etc.
I agree though, it was definitely no Tombstone. Definitely worth the movie ticket in my opinion, and definitely worth owning on DVD/BluRay when its released.
I was really impressed with the performances by Josh Brolin, Jeff Bridges, Hailee Steinfeld, and Matt Damon. Josh Brolin never ceases to impress me with his skills as an actor...even in ridiculous B-List movies like Grindhouse. Jeff Bridges is just awesome... Hailee Steinfeld has an interesting career ahead of her. Matt Damon's role was just hilarious at parts...
