Montreal Biodome

My family and I went to the Montreal Biodome last Friday. To my surprise, there were some very cool, very large aquariums, including two South American tanks, one with piranhas, angels, corydoras, tetras, plecos, rays, and more. I'm guessing the tanks were at least 1000 gallons.

If you're into saltwater setups, they had a Gulf of St. Lawrence tank with pollock, halibut, mackeral, sturgeon, diving birds and other life.

If you're ever in Montreal, it is well worth a visit.

Love the rtc, rarely do I see them in enclosures large enough to house them but he looks quite happy. Almost looks like a flowerhorn in the background of one pic. I'm probably wrong but if so it is the first I've ever seen in a public aquarium.

I'm more of an old world guy myself but love some of the NW too.

I believe the only thing worse than Pauly Shore...would be a French Pauly Shore (and I'm part French Canadian)...

I think I visited this when I was a kid. Is it part of the (1976) Olympic complex? Near where the Montreal Expos (AKA Washington Nationals) used to play

In warmer months, Montreal is a pretty awesome place to be.

It's fairly big, but it's not at all self-contained, nor do folks live there (AFAIK). It's more of a tropical rainforest exhibit and a series of large cold water aquariums combined.

Got to see a beaver grab a branch in its mouth and delightedly cart it off to build something. Lots of puffins and penguins, too.
