Matt Quinn (Dogofwar) wanted me to post this pic up for him. (As he stated, his POS phone can't get the job done).

Congrats Matt. :)

Thanks much, Tony!

The female lays herself over the eggs whenever there's trouble (and at night)...

I got them (as fry) from JT Thomas (of PVAS). I'll find out where he got them...

Won't be able to raise or sell any babies (too hard to get them out of giant piece of driftwood).

Rapps has some for sale now...

Matt

do you know the lineage of these fish? ;)

I wonder if a couple of those could get along with an apisto in a 20L?

Long term, I don't think they would be happy. Males can get up to 5-6" when grown. Also, the ones that I have kept in the past like to occupy the upper third of the tank, so a 20 long wouldn't give them much room to swim. I would think that a pair would be better in a 55.

Yesterday the insignis were still gaurding the wigglers (which were hanging / stuck to the piece of driftwood)...

I've been artificially raising these guys... started them in a plastic storage container...and transferred them to a net breeder in the 180 last weekend.

The parents look like they've lost the battle of trying to raise the fry that I didn't siphon in the main tank. They hover around the corner of the tank with the net breeder, though.

The fry are tiny. You can still hardly see them. Not sure how many are still around but I see little slivers when I dip in a little Golden Pearls...
