Looking for good deal on a 150

As life would have it, as soon as we started re-doing our 150 we found a house that fit the bill. It's a short sale, so, now that the seller has accepted our offer, we're waiting on the bank.

Last time we had to move we bought a used 150 tank and stand and sold our 150 with stand for the same price ($300). That way, we could have the new tank completely set up and cycled before moving The Uglies to it.

We are thinking of doing the same thing again. If anyone has 150 gallon tank with a cabinet stand that they are not using and would be willing to swap it for a 150 gallon tank with a cabinet stand (or if you see a good deal on a 150 with stand), please let me know.

Alternately, I guess we could set up holding tubs for the time that it takes to break down and re-set up the tank.

On the upside, this means we'll be putting off Discus maybe just long enough to convince the hubs that there are other beautiful fish out there.

If you are moving locally and have an overlap of being in both houses at the same time, I wouldn't go through the hassle of buying and selling tanks. Just keep your filter media wet and you should be fine.

True. The issue is partially the time it takes (and organizing enough help) to get the tank fully broken down and out of the basement. We don't currently have a walk out so the thing has to be completely empty because we have to stand it on end at the top of the stairs to maneuver it out of the hallway.

It's a pain in the butt, but possible. When Mike O'Shea moved a couple of weeks ago, we broke down a 180, a 120, and a 90 and moved them to the new house in a few hours.

good luck....hopefully there isnt 2 banks involved like we had on our short sale house we were waiting for... sheesh , the owners accepted our offer immediately but after that it was months trying to get both banks to agree..after 7 months total time we walked away and went with our 2nd choice house... lesson learned on short sales..

Lucas (Forester) and I were looking at one a whila ago. Not sure if it is still for sale, but it was a drilled 150 with a 55 gal sump system. for $400, but the guy would take $350. I just looked, and can't find it. I think he either sold it or re-listed it.

I agree, don't sell it unless you have to. If you need help moving the tank I can lend a hand.

Good luck on the house:D

Thanks, Kevin!

Believe me, when it comes time to move (if it comes time to move) there will be beer and pizza involved for anyone who is willing to help.

Of course, if I do MY job right, there may also be some little baby Aspidoras involved as well.
