lighting and marineland 29 gal w Eclipse 3 filter etc

Hi. Aiming for an artistic planted tall tank, I got an old used Marineland 29 gal, but it's two T8 fluorescent bulbs are limited to 18 w (24") and I'm wondering if the 18 watt max will limit plant options and plant growth.

Discovering I'm enjoying fish again, I may upgrade the whole system anyway, though.

2 new t8 bulbs in that should put out enough light for medium light plants. At least that's my experience.

I was running one of those for a very long time. I have mods you can do to them. PM me if your interested.
