I have never had to leave my dog alone until this trip so im kinda new to the boarding kennel thing. The fish I can figure out with feeders or what not its just the doggie im worried about! Thanks

I think Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital would be the closest boarding facility to you. Address is 7515 Brooklyn Brige Road, Laurel, MD 20707. (www.rockygorgevet.com)
There is also Paradise for Pets 12561 Old Gunpowder Road, Beltsville MD. I don’t know too much about these facilities but I just asked two different clients and these two kennels were their recommendations. Hope this helps.

I would highly advise against the beltsville place. I used to live next door to them and they didn't take the best care of the animals.

I would not mind watching your dog if he is well behaved and house trained. I have two dogs and do not mind watching dogs for friends and family. I do understand that I am an hour from you tho.

I used Paradise for Pets once because the kennel at the vet kept my dog locked up all day. PFP puts your dog with other dogs to run around all day with a pack that allows your dog not to really miss you. However, my 120 lb boy is dog aggressive so he had to be penned. But what I did like about his behavoir when I picked him up was that his behavoir wasn't as jacked up when I picked him up.

The best alternative would be to have someone you trust pet-sit which allows your dog to stay in its own environment.
