I have one of the pretty ladies from my Yellow tail acei colony is holding. I have heard it is hard to get these guys to breed. Anyone know if this is true or not? This will be a first from the Acei colony I have currently. Weird thing is I would have sworn the fish who is holding was one of the males as it has a pointed dorsal fin.

The pointed dorsal fin tends to be more a rough indicator with new world cichlids. Egg spots are more the rough indicator with Malawi Cichlids. Both of these are not 100%, definitely there are Malawi females with egg spots and New World males without pointed fins.
