I've got more babies

Uncle Ruckus was kind enough to sell me some Jewel Cichlids earlier this year and the biggest female got cozy with a male I picked up from Tropical Lagoon on Sunday. I went into the basement this morning to find that the female laid eggs on a piece of driftwood. Lucky for me it was in a corner so I got a divider be for they killed off the other four Jewels. Lucky for me these were the two brightest fist out of the six. I am already raising what I think are ruby hap fry. Wish me luck. Thanks Uncle Ruckus and Spline (Kevin).

good job man now its gonna be tryin to get them to stop or what to do with the fry.... i feed out a 100 or so and still have to many

Now my ruby Hap is holding. How long should I wait before I strip her? Their is no way the fry will survive in my community tank. The last time I knew when to strip her when I saw an eyeball in her mouth. I am not sure of the gestation period. I would say she has been holding for a day or two.
