Is there a Rare Convict Cichlid?

Most of us know it is more difficult not to breed Convicts, than it is to breed them. I was just wondering is there a Rare Convict or a highly sought after type of Convict Cichlid the more advanced fish keeper?

There are a few of us in club (really just me and DogOfWar) who really like the wild-type convicts. I've currently got 6 different localities, and I know Matt has at least 4 or 5 more. Each is different and has their own distinct qualities. I prefer to keep wild types pure and not mix them.

While most of these fish are rare in the hobby, I wouldn't call them "highly sought after". As you said, most are fairly easy to breed. The harder part is maintaining them in the hobby.

Other cryptoheros species are in higher demand, like nanoluteus and sajica.
