ID??

Help me ID this guy... Was bought as Mendelsoni...

I've never heard of a mendelsoni.

The color sort of looks like a Tyrannochromis of sorts, but his face is too rounded.

Yeah, suspect it is a hybrid... but like the look.

Yeah, he looks like he may be of a bit of the mbuna persuasion.

Definitely a good looking fish though.

It looks like a cross between Tyrannochromis and Melanochromis (checkered patern) IMO.

Looks similar to a Dimidiochromis compressiceps with a touch ofNimbochromis venustus.

I'll bet he bought it as a "livingstoni"...but I agree that it's a cross of hap + something...

It does have a resemblance with some of the melanochromis.

That is M.Johanni crossed to something from the Haplochromid complex of Malawi, Tyrannochromis would be a most likely the other fish used in the cross
