Great April Meeting

mchambers

Former CCA member
Arthur was an excellent speaker. He knows his topic as well as anyone in the world and also did a great job speaking.

Thanks to Sam (Avatar) for arranging this.

The auction was surprisingly big, following on the heels of the PVAS all day auction six days ago!

I agree!! thank you to Arthur for coming and educating us on the "ease" of keeping and breeding corys...Excellent presentation, thank you Sam for setting it up

I thoroughly enjoyed the speaker. Great call Sam.

I don't know how we actually get our speakers, but so far this year, we've had some super great presentations.

Have we ever asked someone from Amazonian at the National Zoo to come talk to us about cichlid keeping on a grand scale? I bet they'd come and it would be fascinating.

It was great! i do expect to come to more meetings! Oh, and I forgot the name of the lady who introduced me to the club, THANKS! In all fairness

'Twas Viceroy Antonio's idea.

Agree the presentations this year have been really good, next month's Anabantid talk should be a winner as well though I find it mildly ironic that our site's spell-checker doesn't recognize the word.

I'm bummed that I missed a great meeting.

We had a "small" disaster in our basement Saturday morning. The main sewer line backed up and made a mess in half of our main storage area and half of my fish room (which was still carpeted). Ugh!

I basically spent my weekend breaking down all my tanks and removed all the tanks and stands out of my fish room, removed all the carpet and padding out, disinfected the floor of the fish room and adjoining bathroom and put in new flooring. Since Monday, I've been putting the stands and tanks back up slowly. I just have to seal a 75g tank that I was planning to put in this weekend and set it up as a river tank and set up a 40g breeder as a plant farm tank and I'll be done.

"Small disaster"... love how glass-half-full you are, Arlene.

So sorry to hear that. Having suffered through many floods (most of which self-imposed), it's rarely a good time. Throw your cause (the sewer main) and it's definitely not a good time.

I guess the silver lining is that you got new flooring in the area - and got to rearrange some tanks to boot.

Glad everything got resolved and see you in a few weeks at the May meeting!
