I got in a new Peru order yesterday. Here are a few highlights!

yea and that pic washes them out, they are gorgeous!

they are neat also because they have internal fertilization. Neat fish :)

How do you plump up the Otos / Oto-types?

I brought some cool Golden Hisonotus (basically an Oto...except a little bigger) back from Uruguay and they faded away over a few months.

Probably should have given them Soilent Green (or kept them with less boisterous fish...they were in with Gymnogeos)...

Soilent green is my anser (or the supergreen) for otos and oto types. The other really important thing is lots of clean clean water. I tend to not ever use meds on them, as they have specialized bacteria in their gut that if it gets compromised (with antibiotics), render them unable to properly digest their food.
