USA Today has just reported that giant Goldfish up to 4 lbs have been caught and are breeding in Lake Tahoe. They pose a threat to the 200 square mile ecosystem that has been reknowned for havening some of the most crystal clear, pure water in the world. I lived there in Skyland Nevada for 2 years and never saw any living things other than crayfish. No one knows how they got there, but it is surmised that a few pet Goldfish released over 20 years or so finally grew up and found each other in the huge lake.
