I have a 55 gl mix malawi with 15 in there..wanted to know if there is anything besides plecos,cats.. that i could put in there with Malawi africans? (exmple...rainbows,barbs etc.....)

I keep clown loaches with mine. I wouldn't put anything in there that can fit in the africans mouths personally.

Sorry, missed this thread.

I've kept rainbows in with Malawi fish to use as dithers/target fish for aggressive males. Also seen large barbs (torpedos, etc) kept in adult tanks.

Know they are separate continents but Silver Dollars usually work well too. Different place in the water column and large enough that the other fish usually arent an issue.
