Gammarus shrimp (scuds)

Anyone have experience raising these for live food? Sounds like they can become a pest if introduced into a tank with no predator, but otherwise, might be a great option for some types of fish.

Specifically, I'm thinking of my Altos.....they seem to really get into that "hunt and seek" mode with shrimp and the like.

Skuds, Skuds, Skuds

What a name!!:wub: LOL

At certain times you can seine up plenty of skuds from the Potomac river. I guess they are there all the time, but I have only seen tons of them in the spring. You need a plankton net to get them. I was working on a volunteer project for the Maryland DNR and they were training us to use the plankton nets with quart (glass) jar attached. Never knew of anyone to break one of these jars, even over rocky places.
