Lwanda males normally don't begin to color out until they are 2+ inch. But currently I am growing out a batch of Lwanda and one dominant male has already colored out prematurely at just 1 inch. So how soon they can be sexed depends on the environment they are raised.

Yeah, environment plays a huge role. Sometimes a dominant male will color up early even if he's still small—just trying to establish rank early on.
