FS:Complete 55 gallon setup

He all, my name is Jeff and Im a GWAPA member. I need to free up some space in my fish room, before I break this tank down and sell it off it parts and sell the plants I wanted to see if anyone was interested in the entire setup. Here is what you will get:

55 gallon tank, about 6 years old, great shape, the only thing is shortly after I bought the tank the center brace started to crack in the front, I reinforced it with a piece of lexan and its been fine.
Stand is a 2x4 frame with a custom made popular shroud. I stained it and sealed with poly

Light
Catilina Aq 48" 4 x 54 t-5, currently has Giesmann bulbs that are about a year old, aquasun and aquaflora

Also have lots of spare bulbs
2 new Spectralux 54w 65k
2 new 54w Wave Point red wave
1 Catilina 10k that I used for about a month
1 Catilina 65k used for about a month
2 New NO Coralife 10k

Hardware

Glass covers

Ehiem Jager~150watt heater, new this past winter

Zoomed power head, powersweep ps-10

Fluval 304 filter
I just replaced the impeller, impeller shaft and gasket, I had an air leak and could figure out where it was getting in, turns out the intake tubing where it bent has a pinhole in it, that has also been replaced with clear tubing. I still have the old impeller, shaft as they were fine and really didnt need to be replaced. Also have several new spare gaskets that do with it.

Substrate is probably 6-7 bags of aquasoil

Fish

about 12 silver tip tetra
10 or so redtail rasboras, I think!
few ember tetras
bristle nose plecos
Cories, but I forget what they are, nice though, I think there are 4 in there
TONS of cherry shrimp

Plants
~ If it was ever in GWAPA it is probably in this tank! All kidding aside
Ill get a list together when I have a chance but there is really a lot of nice plants in there, off the top of my head without proper spelling Ill give you a taste~ bunch of different crypts c. rosenvirg, C. lucens, 2 different green geko, gold anubias, anubias nana, Lud. cuba, small form bolbitis, styro lowgrow, styro repens, hygro tiger, hygro brown, c. parva, hygro. pinniafidia, couple different java ferns, lots of good stuff!

You can pick this up as soon as tomorrow, by early next week I am going to break the tank down and try to sell off as many plants as I can.

Im thinking 350.00 seems like a reasonable price, you are getting everything but a CO2 setup. If you feel that is out of line make me a more reasonable offer. The amount of plants alone you could probably sell online for at least that. Send me a PM if you are interested or have any questions. If you know of anyone in any of the other clubs looking for a setup like this please let them know as well.

Thanks!

That really is a gorgeous setup, Jeff.

Makes me want to redo my sad excuse for a planted 45 in the kitchen. :)

Good luck with the sale.

Jeff, can I please just have the plants??????

Hey guys, this is an awesome tank. Jeff is one of the best plant growers in GWAPA and whoever gets this tank if one lucky b******. All the equipment is bound to be top notch! If I only had the room to place this setup, it would be in my house already :(:(:(

Might have to buy some lottery tickets today and take up prayer... If I win I will have a) money to buy this tank, and b) money to buy a house this tank will fit in without getting rid of my couch.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. This tank is pretty easy to maintain, I will share with the buyer my lighting and fertilizing schedule and any other tips and tricks you need to know. If you are new to plants this is a good way to get started as most plants in this tank are pretty undemanding.

My father-in-law would like it but wants to add a pair of Discus to it... is this something that would be doable?

I replied to your PM but for anyone else wondering, YES! I see no problem adding a pair to this tank. They will likely snack on the cherry shrimp but they reproduce fast enough and have enough that I doubt that they will destroy the population.

God, I wish I had room for this tank....

+1

Of course, I might have room if I could just empty out the dang basement. I'd need to run electric though... all of the outlets are occupied.

Me too! If you need help moving some things around Im willing to help, Ill even help setup the 55 and supply you with enough ferts and info to get you going if anyone is worried about keeping the plants alive.
