Fry and snails

I have a couple of inside tank breeder boxes with fry. The kind you hook an airline to and it moves the water through the box. My question is would it be wise to put a nerite snail in the breeder box to get rid of some of he left over food. Sometimes between me and the wife they get fed to often. I would think it would increase the water quality inside the box at least a little. I have rustles in one box and dragon bloods in another.

I've used pond and ramshorn snails for this very purpose. Especially since most fry should never be hungry, I don't think you can over feed fry.

Never used a nerite though.

I've always used nerites as algae grazers in my planted tanks. Not sure if they'd work as a clean-up crew.
