Feeder angels

pst me, I have a lot and hate to see these go to waste. Maybe I should have titled this "Save the feeder goldfish" or "Treat your SA Bass"

Technically all the fish are a genetic mutation... I would think veil fins in the wild would last 0.23 seconds and Lord knows the Mr. Magoo albinos would have never eaten. The ones in question are superviels, the males have fins approaching 8" top to bottom once fully grown. Veils have 1 gene for this and a much lower incidence of bent fins but Super Veils have 2 genes and maybe 50-75% are culls. Odd thing is the silvers seem to have close to 100% cull rate where platinums have much lower, same spawn. But I digress... Nothing is wrong with them outside of this. Now if it is genetic, then they have to be culled. If not, then a problem arises when people want to see the parents of the fish they want to buy and see these bent fin ones. Although the fry may have no greater an incidence in this abnormality, the perception is different.

As for icing not being humane, I would like to know of a better way. Everything I have read from breeders say this is it, the shock to the system on the temperature shuts them down and I have never see one last more than 5 seconds. Now if you are just using ice, I can see that as an issue, but not the combo.

All of the culls were picked up earlier. PM me if you want me to message you when I have more. I have spawns every day and a good supply of culls.
