Daphnia Questions

Has anyone ever kept a long term bucket or pond of daphina? I'm going to digg a 2' deep , 3' wide , 3' across daphina pond hopfully in the spring or summer . Will these dimentions work for over wintering the daphnia? Is there any nutritional difference between pulex and magna? and when is the ideal time to seed the pond?

Ari,
I have known only two people who used the method you are talking about. They both used those big horse trough tubs and placed them in the hole. I have never seen so many daphnia in my life. I have seeded my water barrels by accident.
