The breeder claims it is a mutation found in a wild caught specimen that has been line bred to continue the cow frontosa.

Just fronts line bred to have an interesting pattern... no different really than a German Red Peacock or a triple red apisto or whatever (except that they're frontosas)...

There was a site in Germany selling them a couple of years ago and some people speculated that the sky would fall and the earth would implode if they were made available to the general public.
