Curing Live Rock

Just put it in a tub with a power head proper salinity level and calcium and keep up with your water changes. All your really doing when you are "curing" live rock is letting all the dead bacteria/coral/algae fall off. You put it in a separate tank because all of the living organisms that will die off is going to spike your ammonia and nitrate levels killing all your fish/coral/.

I would also run a protein skimmer with the rock and a power filter that has good mechanical filtration packed with floss. Change floss every other day; it will get extremely nasty. Empty skimmer when it fills up (which should be quite often when the die-off occurs). Keep water temp at 80.

Water changes are usually a good idea too, unless you get surprise "clean" live rock that doesn't really get nasty.

I never use a skimmer or any filter, and no water change. I just use power head , heater and time. If you buy good live rock, it will not take long to cure (a week or less). It may stink a little (or a lot), be ready.
