curing infections

Does anyone know the ratio of salt per gallon to help cure infection for apistos? does anyone do this? I was told it worked well and was the second line of defense after doing many water changes. one of my fish has popeye, but she is swimming and looks happy.

I think it is 1 teaspoon per gallon. But I am not totally sure.

I found a site that sells meds for popeye. I have to look for it and will post the url later.
