Changing tank

Hi everyone, question. Ive just been given a Juwel Delta 300 corner fishtank with cabinet for free,( lucky me )..( 270litres ).It was overstocked with lake malawi zebras,( approx 40...Honest ! ).The old lady who gave me it did'nt know anything about them. The question is,I want to keep a nice big oscar in it as a pet,so would i have to clean out everything in the tank,( gravel.plants.rocks e.t.c. ).also i think i would have to change the biofilter media aswell.Could anyone give me some advice.Ive already got a 450 litre tank with Venustus in it,so i want to have something different, like a neotropical fish.

I think you would only have to clean the tank out if you did not like the decor or if there was a sickness or disease. I would say that the same filter media can be used too. It might help you avoid waiting a month for the tank to cycle. Awesome score!
