Put me in the - I probably would have used them (or donated them to be used) as "feeders" camp.

I certainly don't think they should have entered the marketplace b/c you don't know how they may have been used/marketed if they did.

I do know that if some animals (i.e. dogs (Dalmatians)) are born blind and/or deaf, breeders are encouraged to do as you did. So, in the end, I don't have a problem with what you have done.

On the topic of whether critters feel pain when they are used as feeders or are euthanized, here's an interesting article from the Post on whether invertebrates feel pain. Turns out it's a very complex question (perhaps not surprisingly):
