Price is hardly everything, interested in a few words of wisdom from those whom have been doing this long enough to have some.:D

Don't plecos tend toward bering carnivorous, especially as they get older?

I have some confirmed herbivores that need green stuff. Checked out the NLS site, didn't see any algae wafers or the like.

I find the best algae wafers are the type that have the first ingredients kelp, spirulina or other green stuff.

The only two I know of and use that fit the bill are Omega One and Wardleys.

i had never used any, they usually scrape up the pellets etc.

Last summer i picked up a thing of Hikari wafers, I think from a grab bag from CCA or something. So i drop those in for my bristlenose every week or so and they go right for them.

Ummm, they're not plecos...

...they're very odd improbably slender Rineloricaria catfish that have a distinct preference for algae, hence the original question. I would rather not mess around with zucchini, etc. if I can do the wafer/pellet thing. The spirulina/kelp mixtures sound about right.

Much obliged.

In all honesty I use different ones. I think I have about 4 different types. Now I have pleco's ... but they don't seem to care what I throw at them. They eat anything.
