Alright so Aquamania is here and as I type our folks and many others I hope are attending talks and the like at the show. I will be there tomorrow. My plan is to get the majority of my work done tonight, bagging juvies and fry and labeling their bags. Should I go ahead and tie those juvie and fry bags closed or will the fish do better if I leave those bags open till tomorrow morning?
I will wait till tomorrow around 8:00Am to get the bigger fish into separate bags yet taped together in a single lot. This will involve tearing down my 55 g and 75 g tanks draining them both to 10% water left and netting the fish in a manner where they have nothing to hide in or under also allows me to slip my net across the bottom of the tank and come up from under the fish nice and easy so everyone remains calm for the most part.
The bigger fish as I have described them are my Red Fin colony and My electric blue ahili colony. By the way both colonies are proven breeders and both will have females holding when they arrive tomorrow.
I have never quite "Mastered" the whole full tight bag of air trick so many of you seem to have no trouble with. Most of the time what I do is take a hose from an air pump and run it into the bag and fill the bag nice and tight before rubber banding the top shut anyone else have better ways to go about it so my bags stay nice and full of air?
