In Mexico they are pretty much extinct. Biologist just reintroduced a few pairs but the condition of the canals is going to make it really hard for them to catch on.

That really sucks about the habitat. A small silver lining is axolotls are breed in captivity for research.

The ones we sell at Tropical Lagoon are captive breed. We get them from a local breeder
they aren't as big as the one in the picture but you can knock that last zero off the price,we only charge $2o-25 each for ours.
