Any ideas?

Saw this on this long fin lemon blue eye. Other fish are perfect. Water conditions are perfect. Just showed up one day. Eats like a pig. Any ideas?

Back when I kept those, mine would occasionally get those spots too. I think it’s just pigment. I’ll try to find a picture.

Ive got some with random pigment spots. I wouldnt worry too much unless its something new

There is no ammonia in that tank and everything else is perfect. I will retest tomorrow to be sure Thanks for the tip.

I might have mis-stated that, should have said by some traces of ammonia, does NOT have to be "high" levels

But aren't ammonia burns red? This looks like a patch of normal ancistrus coloring. The most recent Amazonas has an article about pleco types losing their normal coloration over time. Maybe this is the reverse.
