How do you keep the fish from jumping out? Or am I the only person who has fish go flying into the glass lids every time I turn a light on in a room?

Looks like you have kamikaze fish.
Really - one time I left the lid off my Fluval edge for 2 minutes while I went to fill a bucket - I came back and found 4 out of 5 white cloud minnows bouncing around on the carpet. It was sheer luck that I got to them before the dog did.
We have to swat down blue tetras every time we feed the fish in the 150 - those things think they're birds.

I grew my arowana to 10" in this tank, never had an issue with jumping

He's weird I think he thinks he's a cichlid, he flares and try's to lock lips all the time when he was in with the cichlids
