snails

I have no idea how these guys ended up in my tank, I haven't introduced a new fish in over a year, but some how, there are hundreds of them beneath the sand bed. Any idea how to get rid of them? Ultimately, I think the last resort is to dump the old sand and replace it.

As odd as this may sound, I am looking for snails that are similar to the one in the picture below. I have assassin snails that are in need of food.

Is it possible that rainbow cichlids eat snails? I keep finding empty ramshorn shells in my tank. I've always had snails in my planted tanks and never found so many empty shells. Now, I pick them out with some regularity and see only a few live ones. Anyone have this experience? Nothing else in...

Hey everyone. I have or had 2 zebra nerite snails that i found dead. empty shells. I never saw teh fish eating them but i wouldnt put it past them. I only kep the light on at night for a few hours when i got home and the tank was pretty algea free from what i could see from them doing there...

I am looking for pond snails or rams horn snails for my assassin snails. Petsmart and Pecto supprising don't have any in their tanks. Scales was the only LFS that I know of that sold feeder snails.
