The male I have in the pair keeps eating the eggs as soon as the poor girl lays them.

I think I need a good male. Please PM if you have one. Hopefully I will be able to afford one

There is guy in Manassas who's sells a lot of discus. They look pretty good in the picture. Not sure if he can sell you a "proven" male, but you might want to give him a try.
