I'm finally ready to upgrade and looking to buy a 100-200 gallon tank. I would prefer to have it undrilled and not used for saltwater in the past. Looking for at least 72in nothing shorter, black trim, cabinetry/lighting/lids/other bells and whistles are not necessary but considered. Let me know if any of you have one you're willing to sell. Figured I'd try my luck on here before buying brand new.

180 for a good price(but it is in baltimore):

Some 125/150 options:

He might not be the most pleasant person to deal with based on his post, but the tank(125) might be nice.

I would push on the price(factor in getting a replacement frame).

tremper a member of the forum had a 120 with stand and light for sale you may ask him if he still wants to get rid of it..... and if you wanted a 4' 150 i'd trade you for the 120 joe tremper has :)

contacted everyone on the craigslist posts, the first link has the tank drilled :( no responses yet, I'm going up to see a 125 gallon at this woman's house on Friday hopefully her tank still holds water (it housed an iguana before). anyone have tremper's email address? and has anyone ordered from glasscages.com?

What's wrong with a drilled tank? For something that big, setting up a sump is really easy (if you are putting it on a stand or have the room underneath).

Another option would be to wait until That Fish Place has their anniversary sale. Last year, Jim Peck and I went up there and bought two brand-spanken-new 125s for $156 each.

Sweet two weeks before my birthday! That means I can talk my wife into letting me buy two 125gal tanks!

Whatever you do don't give up on Craig's list. I just picked up a 125 with light strips, glass tops and heaters for $150 on yesterday, beautiful tank no scratches with black trim as well. I normally check out cl three to four times during the week. Good luck!!!!

If you are willing to travel, searchtempest.com lets you search craigslist in multiple areas with the same search terms. Another CL tip is to look in the pets section in addition to the marketplace.

wow thanks for all the great feedback, I'm currently looking at a 180 gallon (72x24x24), about 7 years old, it includes stand, 2 eheim canister filters, heaters, and some driftwood. He even is willing to move it into the basement for me. Is $500 a good deal?

I would go for that. There is a possibility you could find a cheaper set-up, but I can almost guarantee the filtration won't be as good.

What really makes that deal seem irrepressible to me is the willingness to deliver to a basement. Even at that pet place a new tank is $600 and the equipment could be more than twice that.
