Trumpet snails

I was just observing my office tank and noticed I have an infestation. Question is, where did they come from? I use all new filter supplies, no plants, pool filter sand and acclimate my fish into the tank without using any of the new water?

Plants? Your hand or net if you used it to transfer the fish. I've learnt that pure non-cross contamination is difficult. If you accidentally got a few drops of water I believe if the eggs break free from the glass or whatever they are attached to and can be suspended in the water (dep on flow or water movement) so those few drips can contain a few eggs.

Or as someone else said in another thread immaculate conception???? Lol!

Lol, I'm thinking a few drops of water from net to tank, now should I leave them or get some assassin snails to clear them out?

I am having the same problem dude. Just about the same situation except I foolishly dump new fish straight into their tanks lol. I just threw a blue botia in my girlfriends african tank. I wanted to grab all 3 from my 125 when I was cleaning it out but I have no idea where they hid and I didnt feel like removing all the decorations. I am already cleaning out the FX5..annoying enough! She also manually removed a few hundred last night with a net and put in an airtight container. Hopefully the botia will take care of the problem!
