that's pretty big. what catfish does everyone here keep mostly? I'd like ones that stay on the smaller size.

Pretty sure petricola stay around 6", but never kept them.

I think S. lucipinnis (formerly known as dwarf petricola) only gets to around 4".

I keep lucipinnis and the largest is probably 4 inches and has been what way for a while. What I think are the males are about an inch smaller. Great fish and always active and playing with each other. you can see them in my troph tank video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_p8toE3FKQ. This video was taken over a year ago and they haven't gotten more then a hair larger.

You can check with some people in the club I think Julie might have some synos of some sort. I dont know of any LFS that have them.

I got mine off of aquabid.com for a pretty reasonably price. I think I got 6 of them at 2.5 inches for like $30. Just look around im sure you can find some.
