Stale Flake

Anybody got any idea how long it takes for spirulina flake to go stale?

I have some that is about 5 or 6 months old and my cichlids just don't seem interested anymore. They used to practically jump out of the tank for it. Now they look at it like it's poison.

Of course I did just abduct 1/3 of their tank mates recently, so maybe they just don't have to be so aggresive for it. Anyway, your thoughts are appreciated.

I would imagine that they would go stale but I have
kept food longer without a problem. It also depends
on the storage container.

I your fish get picky, cut back on the feeding for a few
days and then try again.
