Rainbow drama -- domestic violence

Uh oh.

Last batch of babies disappeared a few days ago and Mom and Dad were back to flirting (after he'd spent the last two+ weeks chasing her away from their offspring). All was well. This morning -- a rock full of eggs again. The bad news is that both Mom and Dad look like they went ten rounds with each other. Mom got the worst of it. Her tail is very frayed with a big hunk taken out of the middle. Dad's tail has a few pieces missing as well. He's guarding the eggs by himself again. Sigh. WFT????

Both came out and ate bloodworms this morning. She does not seem to be in distress other than the tail. I'm not going to treat with anything for fear it'll mess with the eggs. She's not bad enough to pull out.

I wish they'd get their act together!!!

Wrigglers have now hatched. Dad is doing all the guarding. Mom is being chased off. Grrrrrr.

Should I find this guy a new gal? Should I find this gal a new guy? I have a 30 gallon set up that would be fine for one pair. And I could get in on the Jeff Rapp order for another pair.

Any thoughts?
