Pleco Group Buy.....?

Hey Everyone,

Anyone interested in a group purchase of plaecos? Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, maybe this guys pricing is out of control, but I found him on Aquabid and kind of fell in love with the long finned calico's and blue eyed albinos. Pics of some of his stock and a prelim pricelist at quantities of 10x. Looks like prices could go down a bit for #s of each in the 20-30 range.

Just gauging interest at this point but if we could get a bit of interest going perhaps we could give it a go. On the other hand, someone at the CCA is probably breeding these and some as of yet unreleased variants in lime green with pink eyes in their basements and I just don't know about them....

His response on preliminary pricing.

I will give a generalized Price range (still flexible) at what I have in bulk sizes now. I will give a number of 10 price and we will go from there to see what you would want and see what exactly we have in stock now. This could be all I have in stock right now. I know I have large amounts of the Albino Long-Fins and Calico Short Fins. More than 50 of each. Obviously if you bought 30 the price would go down per Pleco.

10 X ALBN Long-Fins at 1.5+ inch: $35.00
10 X Albino Short-Fins at 1.5+ inch: $30.00
10 X Calico Long-Fins at 1.5+ inch: $80.00
10 X Calico Short-Fins at 1.5+ inch: $45.00
10 X Chocolate Long-Fins at 1.5+ inch: $80.00
10 X Chocolate Short-Fins at 1.5+inch: $45.00
10 X Rio Ucayali: $40.00

We are sold out of greens and will be bringing in 50+ more in stock in the next few days.

10 X Long-Fin Greens 1+ inch: $100.00
10 X Short-Fin Greens 1+ inch: $45.00

Thats them Nathan. Would be nice to get a few more people in on the buy to get shipping to a manageable cost per person.

It's strange, I can see the pics in my original posting on this computer but when I look at it on my phone they're not there. The pics are located in an album under my profile entitles "plecos"

If we can get the shipping under $10/each I am in for 10 Rio Ucayali.

Does he have L213s(another bristlenose)? It looks like he sold some the end of august.

I don't have any longfin stock, but I do have regular BN plecos in every color morph but green available.
Albino or calico unsexed juvies are $3/each or $15/6, browns are $2/each or $10/6, adult browns that also produce some albino, calico, and even a few super red fry are $30/trio.
Line bred super reds from the stock I got last year from Germany are $20/each or $100/6.
Can deliver to the meeting, or ship UPS Ground for next day arrival pretty inexpensively.

Sorry guys, this guy never got back to me so I'm going to give up on him. I'd prefer to work with someone who gets back to me within a 24 hr period. If he pops back up and answers my question's i'll let you know. Anyway, I'm still on the hunt for some long fin plecos.....

I have absolutely no knowledge of this seller...so who knows in this case...but sometimes I think folks hold hobbyists selling fish to the same business standards as real businesses.

He's probably busy at his actual work. Or some other reason that he hasn't responded in 24 hrs...

Quite possible, its been closer to 2 days but you're right. Due to our limited interest as a group I would assume his interest could have waned a bit....... Regardless, its all good...

Yes, Jen is DonkeyFish. And she has some long and regular finned ones, some expressing a Malborough red, not super red.

I actually could use a few good algae eating plecos, that can hang okay with a few big cichlids. I know the common pleco is a poor choice in the algae eating department, and they get a tad too large for my liking. Any suggestions?
