Platytaeniodus sp. "red tail sheller"

I have 5 of these in a 40 gallon breeder tank. They are apparently very skittish/shy fish. almost as bad as my Calvus were before I put some Streppsi in with them.

Since these are on the CARES list I was planning on having them in a species only tank but since they never come out of the rocks, except at night or when the lights are out, I think I may have to put some dither fish in with them.

Any suggestions on something small ( shell dweller maybe) that will work with these and have a minimum chance of cross breeding?

I'd add some goodeid livebearers (big enough not to be eaten) like Ameca splendens...or maybe some swordtails or mollies.
